Team

The Climate Resilience Solutions Team provides services for public and private sector clients in the design of inclusive climate and NatCat (re)insurance schemes, working with multilateral actors such as the World Bank, FAO, UNDP and WFP. A core part of our business is the management of two pools of Technical Assistance (TA), enabling partners to pioneer approaches to protect the most vulnerable. Services financed by the TA include capacity building of clients and partners, client education, product R&D and structuring services, and marketing, in low- and middle-income countries.

We are now looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead the management and deployment of the TA facilities, in addition to project management of other key initiatives within the team.

Role 

The Senior Project Manager will predominantly lead on the management and deployment of the CRS team Technical Assistance. Activities include leading on all operational processes related to the pools of TA, including but not limited to; due diligence of potential partners, proposal approval processes, administrative and implementation support throughout project life cycle and support to report writing including impact reporting. 

In addition, the Senior PM will support on key project accounts as part of the CRS team, as needed. 

We are looking for someone with strong experience in project or account management and managing complex operational procedures, with the ability to work with diverse range of cultures across sectors and professions. The ideal candidate for this role can work efficiently to tight deadlines. Working experience with public sector and multilateral funders is highly favoured. A background of working in disaster resilience and/or inclusive finance is desirable. Fluency in Spanish is highly favoured.

Responsibilities 

Lead the team’s efforts to:

  • Maintain relationships with key TA clients.

  • Contribute, with CRS team, to budget, strategic deployment and execution TA. 

  • Lead processes related to the management and deployment of TA funds, including proposal approvals, grant management during project implementation and support throughout project lifecycle. Involvement in all aspects of TA project lifecycle. Ensuring project work stays within timeframes, working with partners and other individuals to implement project activities, monitor and report on progress, make suggested corrections if needed and contribute to project reports.

  • Lead on drafting quarterly and annual TA reports, ad hoc and other impact reporting. 

  • Oversight into adherence of TA policies and procedures. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of BA/BSc degree or equivalent preferably in Business, Finance, Risk, Economics, or similar field. Postgraduate degree in related field highly desirable. 

  • 5+ years of work experience in a related field. 

  • Fluency in English; Spanish highly advantageous. 

  • Experience managing complex operational procedures and guidelines, preferably with public or mulitalteral donors.  

  • The ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders with diverging priorities. 

  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, experience in reporting and writing. 

  • Self-motivated, fast learner and ability to work independently. 

  • Knowledge of micro-insurance & financial inclusion topics as well as climate risk & climate adaptation topics are an advantage. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an interest in meeting new people and relationship management.

  • Excellent project management and presentation skills.
