Senior InsurTech Sales Manager (London or Zurich)

The CelsiusPro Group is an Insurtech company headquartered in Zurich, with offices in London and Sydney. It consists of CelsiusPro (CP), NatCatPro (NCP), and Global Parametrics (GP). 

CP is specialized in index insurance solutions to mitigate the effects of adverse weather, climate change, and natural catastrophes. We combine risk management with data science, while simplifying, digitizing, and automating the risk management process. For the second year in a row CelsiusPro has been ranked by FinTech Global among the top 100 InsurTech Companies globally.  

NCP is a Managing General Agent (MGA) underwriting parametric NatCat (re)insurance globally. Tropical Cyclones, earthquake, and flood perils are covered with our product offering. We cater for small to large enterprises by underwriting through our proprietary technology platform. Business is transacted exclusively via the broker channel. 

GP was founded to mitigate the risks of extreme weather and climate events with a focus on low-and-middle-income countries. We aim to drive impact through innovation, driving global leadership in parametric product design and distribution. Our solutions are backed by the risk capacity of the Natural Disaster Fund (NDF), a state (UK/DE) backed reinsurance vehicle. 

 

The Sales and Business Development Team

The Team provides risk management solutions and web-based platforms for corporations, insurers, brokers, governmental agencies, industry bodies, cooperatives, and agribusiness companies to offer smart and cost-effective parametric products to clients.

The Team further originates, mandates, and consults private clients globally on climate, agriculture, and natural catastrophe insurance. The successful candidate will be a part of the Sales and Business Development team, reporting to the Head of Business Development.

The position is full time and will be based in Zurich (Switzerland) or London (UK) with potential for travel for business development, client management and conferences for approximately 10% of the time.

Your responsibilities:

  • Drive the go-to-market sales of our Software-as-a-Service WLP (White Label Platform), via organizational planning, relationship development, and execution at the enterprise account level. 

  • Drive business expansion by gaining access and opening doors with a particular focus on insurance companies and brokers.

  • You are actively involved in identifying key stakeholders from initial contact all the way through to deal closure.

  • You analyse and assess submissions from clients and brokers, optimize workflows, assist with the enhancement of internal processes and communication within the Business Development team and towards the Technology team.

  • Account and client relationship management: Cultivate strong relationships with assigned key accounts. Serve as the primary point of business contact for clients, understanding their unique needs, challenges, and goals, as well as communicating the needs to Products and Technology teams.

  • Upselling and contract negotiation: Lead negotiations for upselling opportunities, ensuring that terms, pricing, and contractual agreements align with company objectives and policies.

  • You support in structuring and presenting parametric NatCat and weather/climate insurance solutions for mainly our broker clients.

  • Responsibility for sales of CelsiusPro and Global Parametrics risk transfer products/services for target sectors to drive financial inclusion. Sectors include but are not limited to Microfinance, Humanitarian Relief, and Agribusiness in low- and middle-income countries.

  • Develop, maintain and manage partnerships with third parties that can introduce direct relationships with clients, and use those introductions to drive sales engagements and product origination,

  • Support capital raising activity for the Natural Disaster Fund, the pool of risk capital GP will utilize for covering products. Maintain strong relationship with capital providers to facilitate new client opportunities.

You have:

  • Experience in driving forward enterprise sales in a high-growth technology environment, ideally within the Insurtech space, with a track record of top performance.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales of SAAS solutions, preferably in insurance market.

  • Passionate and experienced in climate and NatCat related risks and the (re)insurance market in general.

  • Strong presentation skills, particularly for in-person or virtual meetings with multiple stakeholders.

  • Ability to understand complex technical requirements and work with product teams to determine solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability in recognizing current trends within the insurance market and formulating tailored sales strategies that align with market requirements.

  • Proven ability to participate in complex negotiations involving bespoke commercial agreements.

  • Demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills.

  • Experience in data analysis and natural catastrophe modelling.

  • Languages: proficient German and English (written and spoken); Spanish and French are assets.

Candidates must have Swiss, UK or EU citizenship, or Swiss work permit. You will be expected to travel globally (approx. 10%).
